Monster Hunter World MR 24 Best Longsword Builds

If you are an avid gamer who is just getting started with Monsters Hunter World and you also happen to love Longswords, then we might have a build that you would like. So, the Monster Hunter World MR24 Best Longsword Build is specifically for those who are relatively new to the game. An early game build that utilizes Longswords specifically to deal damage and traverse the world. Without any further ado, let’s jump straight to it.

Best Early Longsword Build Description

Best Early Longsword Build Description in Monster Hunter World

We're going to go over three known as Begin Iceborne, Jewel Iceborne, and 1st Frostfang. All going to center around Teostra or Technique, Master's Touch, and basically, this prevents your weapon from losing sharpness during critical hits.

So every critical hit you do on the monster is not going to deplete your sharpness gauge. So we're going to have purple weapons with purple sharpness that don't have a lot of sharpness on them.

You don't need it because if you approach the fight correctly, you're going to always hit them with critical hits and not deplete any sharpness, so you'll never have to have sharpness in your actual build.

One thing to note is that these builds are squishy, so you're going to have to start getting used to doing things like playing evasively, but mainly your Foresight Slash. This is when I started coming into my own with Foresight Slash and playing more reactively

Like watch what they're doing and decide on how you want to approach it, whether you want to get away from them or get in for some attacks or a couple of quick hits or something like a big combo.

You're going to use three pieces of the Master Ring Teostra armor. You're going to use the waist, crown, vambraces, and the greaves.

1st Master Touch Set for Longsword Build

1st Master Touch Set for Longsword Build

You are going to use the Raging Brachydios, Chest, and Greaves. This is going to give you Latent Power, and Critical Eye.

So basically when it's active it increases your affinity by 10% and reduces stamina depletion by 30%. If you do get hit, once you take 180 damage it's going to proc.

So whatever condition is met first, either three minutes or 180 damage, it's going to proc and you're going to get the affinity boost. And then after it will proc again.

In the Raging Brachydios set, basically we want to do two pieces of this for Agitator Secret to get Agitator to level 7. This comes with Agitator 2 and 3 jewel slots. It maxes out the Agitator with the Agitator Charm that we are also going to be wearing.

The Greaves have Weakness Exploit and Heat Guard. It's not like Fire Resistance 20, you can still get burned, but a lot of the supplemental damage that other heat attacks can do, it pretty much negates that.

And then you're going to have the Waste Piece. This is going to have two Blast Attacks. We are going to be using the Lightbreak Edge, which you also get from the Raging Brachydia.

Monster Farming for MR24 Best Longsword Build

So basically there are only two monsters you have to farm, and you can start farming both of those at Master Rank 24. It isn’t at the true start of the game, rather it is quite shortly after.

You know, you go through your earlier missions like Beotodus and Bombero and a few things like that, and you can start building any set you can build with whatever you have available, and will be enough to get you through there.

Once you hit Master Rank 24, so you can fight the Raging Brachydia, we think you can do a Master Rank Teostra much earlier than that. So start getting some of these pieces.

Abilities

The Blast Attack is going to go with your Sword, Lightbreak Edge is a Blast Weapon. Then your Greaves, you're going to have two Weakness Exploits, and this is going to give you max Weakness Exploit with this set. And you have three slots, very nice.

Challenger Charm, and Temporal Glider, we recommend you to always use these two Mantle. Lightbreak Edge, you're going to have your Attack Increase as one Augment and your Health Regen. It does not have a negative Affinity, so you don't have to worry about getting the Affinity on this one like you did with the Fatal Zaga Spanning.

Jewels

Jewels for Best Monster Hunter World Longsword Build

You get one Expert IV just by starting Iceborne. Now in this set, you're going to need at least either one Expert IV or one Attack IV. If you have an Attack IV or an Expert IV, you're going to build it like having three Jumping Attacks, and two of the Jumping Attacks.

If you don't have another Expert IV but you do have an Attack IV, you're going to have to grind for one of these. If you do have an Attack IV, then these can be Jumping Experts, and you'll accomplish the same thing.

So basically, two Experts and another one are going to max out your Crit I. You got 45 Affinity with your Crit I and just the Attack IV, and you're going to have another 20 with your Agitator, that's 65, and 50 with your Weakness Exploit.

So you're going to be well over 100%, 115% when you're proccing Agitator, 95% at a bare minimum. This is important because you don't want to lose your Sharpness, and you always want to do Critical Hits. So you're going to use three Jumping Attack tools.

Why? Jumping is probably either that or Evade Window. They're one and two when it comes to the very best defensive stats skills you can have, the very best, over any kind of Defense Boost, over Earplugs, over Divine Blessing even. Guys, the reason we're using Evade Extender instead of Evade Window, this is the beginning of Iceborne.

The rest of your jewels are just the same for your meta, increase from your critical, so you're going to do your three critical jewels.

But what we would recommend for most other players is a Fortitude Attack Jewel, get Fortify in there, that way if you cart once, you get increased health and damage, attack and damage of 10% of whatever you're already doing, and an additional 15% if you cart the second time.

The last three jewels are going to be Vitality. This is not a Fatality set, you don't have health boosts automatically built in, and you always want to have 100% health with whatever build.

For the most part, 100%. And then you're going to have the Shaver Jewel, because the way we want to approach the Master's Touch is you want to weaken the head, and we're going to take on a Namiel at the end of this video to showcase this specific build.

Second Longsword Build for Monster Hunter World

Second Longsword Build for Monster Hunter World

The next one is the same thing, but it is a little bit more optimized than the previous one. After you make the first build, you can do tempered threat level 3 investigations for the chance to get the rarity 12 jewels to get those attack 4s and expert 4s.

Okay, so this is just assuming that you've been able to grind a little bit, and you have two expert 4s and two attack 4s, because that way you can drop like the jumping ability.

You don't need the jumping ability, but for beginners, it is especially useful, as they can simply avoid attacks rather than negating damage with divine blessing and things like that, and using some of your offensive care capabilities like your foresight slash to be defensive and offensive, because we're replacing those two now with flawless medicines, which is going to keep your health topped up again, and is going to also proc a plus 10 attack boost, and then in our mantles still we're going to have the attacks.

Now we're going to have a third flawless medicine just to top up both of those stats and a third attack 4. But if you don't have a third one, a flight attack jewel here is perfect. It gives you 30% damage on your flight, and another attack boost as well, so that's enough for that.

It's just both the same builds, one is a little bit more optimized.

Third Longsword Build - Frostfang Master’s Touch Build

Third Longsword Build - Frostfang Master’s Touch Build

So you're going to have your Frost Fang helm, and because you have your Frost Fang helm, now you don't have one of those teoster parts. You got a punishing draw, and you got two extra crits I, but now we're going to have a sothy shatter blade.

So this is a little bit further in the game. You can still fight a Frost Fang barioth, which is still MR (Master Rank) 24.

Then the sothy weapon you might need to grind for a little bit too, but you can do those at any point in time as well. You do want sharpness 6, because that instantly gives you purple sharpness, even though it's just a little. Your Teostra's technique will take care of you not needing to sharpen.

You want three attack fives, and you need to have one Teostra technique to make up for the one that you're missing out on the helm now because we're using Frost Fang. All right, that should make all a bunch of sense, or at least enough sense.

Okay, so with this build, you're now going to have critical I maxed out, agitator maxed out, attack boosts four, and health boost three. Now you're going to have your recovery up, maxed out in your build.

Crit boost three, of course, weakness exploits, still got the blast attack. You have two peak performances in your build now, which is always wonderful, and then your heat guard and clutch claw boost, everything else that you have in the build.

These are the gems that you pick. It can be a little bit more unspecific as long as you have the attack fours.

You can have critical medicines and put like a flawless jewel there if you have a level two one, so you can have some combination of these. Flawless medicines, if you guys come across these, never get rid of them. Three of these are going to come in useful in so many different builds.

Temporal mantle still has the attack jewels, and now in the glider, we're going to do flawless maintenance because we already have our medicine maxed out, and we're going to do KO maintenance because now we do have the frost fang helm.

And now in this build, guys, you want to make sure you eat for feline slugger and attack boost largely because feline slugger is also going to go with your frost fang helms punishing draw, along with this KO maintenance.

These two maintenances are going to make it so your temporal mantle is going to be available pretty much about 30 seconds to a minute after the glider mantle is done.

Conclusion

So, these are all the Monster Hunter World MR 24 Best Longsword Builds. Keep in mind that there are three of these, and nearly all of them follow the same pathway. From the first one to the third, the jump in level is increased to keep it relevant to your increasing level in the game. Follow the guide to get the best early Longsword Build in Monster Hunter World. Happy Gaming!
