Enshrouded is massive and has a ton of mechanics to throw off players. Whether it is farming items, weaponry, or legendary gear, it takes time, and experience to understand the mechanics to their complete depth. Similarly, Plant Farming is essential in the game to collect essential resources without searching the world for them. If you are wondering what is the best way to go through it, we have here Enshrouded Plant Farming Guide, where we will be sharing with you details on what you need for Plant Farming, how to create your very own Farmland, how to collect essential Plants/samples, and how to make Sugar/Honey as well. Let’s get started with all the details below.
The first thing you need to unlock is the Farmer. In this tab, you will find all the resources and the production.
Out of these, the most important ones are the Farm Beds, which are used for Farm Soils - made with Dirt and Bone Meal.
To get dirt in Enshrouded, you have to mine the floor. Do this outside your base, as it destroys the ground.
To get a bone meal in Enshrouded, you have to pick bones from creatures and throw them into the grinder.
Go back to the farmer and make the Farm Soil using the two ingredients you just made. Then, you can make two Farm Beds.
If you are in the early game, Farm Soil is recommended, but if you are deep into the game, then you require Fertilised Farm Soil made from Sand, Fossilized Bone Dust, and Nitrate.
The Farm Soils will enhance the growing speed of plants, and as you guessed, the Fertilised one will do it quickly.
Just as you pick up the Dirt/Sand, and Bone Dust, you will also get the Fossilized Bone Dust. But, to make Nitrate, you need to get the Alchemy Laboratory.
For Nitrate production, you need Sand, Salt, Wood Acid, and Alchemical Base.
To create your Farmland for Plant Farming, you have to find a flat surface, just like in the image above. The area should be wide, and free from other structures. You can make it alongside your own house, or another base you have for other purposes.
If the surface is ideal, but it isn’t completely flat, you can take out your rake, and flatten it up. Our recommendation in the Enshrouded Plant Farming Guide would be to use a rake to flatten up the surface even if it is flat already.
Toggle your menu with the construction hammer, go for the terrain, and check out the number six that gives you the Farm Soil Block. If you have the Fertilized Farm Soil, you can use that, but in case you are a beginner, our recommendation would be to use the regular Farm Soil.
Fill in the area with the Farm Soil Blocks, preparing the area for Plant Farming.
To make the location look beautiful and organized, you can put some Tarred Wood Block at the edges of your Farmland.
Use the Stone Fences for organization, as it gives you Plant Farm Base a better outlook. Not only that, but the Stone Fences will also protect your Farmland from other creatures while you are away.
After setting up your Farm, you have to travel the world and find Plants that you want to grow here in your Farm.
You can find Plants at various locations in Enshrouded for your Farm, but the best one would be near the vicinity of “Ancient Spire - Springland”. There is a fast travel location there, making it effortless to reach it whenever you need to farm Plants for your Farm.
Near the location, towards your left, you will find the Harvest Homestead and Woodgard. This is a village with two small gardens, and massive Farmlands filled with Corn Crops, Aureolin Flowers, Red Mushrooms, and Tomatoes.
Just below the fast travel location, you will also find Bounty Barn, which is close to the Ruined Bridge, and the Lupa’s Lair.
This location is filled with tons of Sabercats, and Spiders. But, you can find a ton of Bell Peppers, Sage Leaves, and Straw. Remember to hold onto Straws because they are going to be of use later on in the Enshrouded Plant Farming Guide as well.
We have the required Plants, and also a complete Farmland to grow Plants in. Lay three Farm Beds next to the Farmland, and access the Flower Bed menu, which showcases all the plants that you can make, alongside their recipes.
With the required items like Water and Tomatoes, you can make Tomato Seedlings.
The same can be done for the Bell Pepper Seedlings, as you just have to put in Water, Bell Pepper Seeds, and Fossilized Bone Dust.
This way, you can make every Plant you want, like Beet Seedling. We have three Farm Beds, so you can put only three Plants to Farm in Enshrouded at a time.
Now that you have the Plant Seeds (Seedlings), you can just plant them in your Farm, but stay organized, as you have to start from the Left or Right side of the edge and make your way horizontally, or vertically.
In the near-end quest of Enshrouded - Beehive Smoker, you will unlock the Honey Beehive furniture, and give you access to the Smoker itself. But, you can craft the Honey Beehive yourself by acquiring Beehive Smoker, and Farmer.
You will need a ton of water, so you can just craft a Water Well yourself to provide water to your Plant Farm. There is also a trick here, where you can break and rebuild your Water Well to get an infinite amount of water in your Farm.
To get Sugar in Enshrouded, you need to have Sugar Cane, which you can get from the desert area, or Nomad’s Island, found in the eastern part of the world.
Interact with Emily, and you will find Sugar in the Energy Section of Supplies. Here, you can just make Sugar using Sugar Cane, and farm it later on in your own Plant Farm.
Now, you have both the Honey Beehive and Sugar, alongside an unlimited supply of Water. You can use the Sugar to create Honey from the Honey Beehive.
Plant Farming in Enshrouded is essential at one point because you can’t travel the whole landscape looking for Plants that are used to make various essentials in the game. Thus, you will have to create your Farmland, and put in various Plants you need at the moment. To help you out, we created this Enshrouded Plant Farming Guide that showcases everything from creating the best Farmland, finding Plants, and making Sugar/Honey, alongside an Infinite Water supply.
